Female Farmers in Småland, Sweden

Vi är de bortglömda / We are the forgotten ones
Brief: conduct a project in visual communication in collaboration with regional parties and focusing on the theme of land and city. The end result of this module became a magazine about Ylvali and Johanna, two female farmers in Småland, Sweden.
Through researching local archives and news articles about farmers, I came to realization that farmers are in majority portrayed as men. Hence, I wanted to bring back women to the context of farming and highlight two female farmers in Småland, Sweden. The title Vi är de bortglömda/We are the forgotten ones is raising the problematic of women being forgotten from the history of farming. The core vision was to shed light upon women's active life in rural areas, both generally and in particular where they constituted a considerably larger party than our history stated. The book is divided into two stories land/city, one from my personal perspective of visiting the farm, the other from the perspective of Ylvali and Johanna living and working at their farm. During my visits I photographed, interviewed and wrote about Ylvali and Johanna.
